A Mini Rant

So, earlier I said I’d be critiquing every episode but I did that only for S1E1: Winter Is Coming

Writing that took more time than I actually thought it would and I ended up rewatching the entire episode/accidentally rereading AGOT

So while writing the drafts for the next episode, I realized that writing the post while watching interfered greatly with watching the show which (I don’t even KNOW why) was a dynamic I wanted to experience back in the days when the episodes were actually good.

Now I’m all the way in Season 6 and can I say that I am in complete awe of how wonderfully they’re fucking up everything? Because I am!

You know how it feels when you’re watching something horrific happening and you want to turn away-you MUST turn away-but for some reason you can’t and you just keep staring on at the horror, right?

That’s EXACTLY how I feel about Game of Thrones.

Many people told me to stop watching but I can’t.

I’m not saying the ENTIRE show was horrible; just from mid-season 3 onwards.

I’ll continue working on the posts as soon as I finish the show.

You’ll see. (if you’re a show watcher and haven’t read the books)

Sure it’s an adaptation and all but what the fuck is the actual point if you discard the source material?

I honestly believe that D&D did not read A Dance With Dragons.

ALL the story lines are MESSED UP

And the casting of the new characters is so terribly disappointing.

In the first few seasons (aka 1,2 and parts of 3) I will have to refer to the books to nitpick but the show’s just made my job of bitching about it so much easier after that.

It’s ironic that the only thing in my life going according to plan is me watching Game of Thrones after finishing ASOIAF.

The show in itself is a testament to how disappointing 2020 has been.
